This page is going to document my costs. I will note whether the specific items listed were or were not covered. Think of this as the itemized bill for future child number one. (Poor thing…and I am TOTALLY just kidding!)

Captain Code:
Semen analysis———————–$79
(not covered)
Me: cycle one is cycle one of fertility treatments, not the start of our journey.
Initial appointment——————–$189
(supposed to be covered-was not covered)
Fertility blood work and testing for pcos————————————$1450
(going to fight to get a portion covered since they found I am not technically infertile, it should be coded differently. Hope to get some covered. Unexplained infertility stinks **Update: after a year of fighting, final rule is that they will NOT cover anything as I am not having to go through IF treatments. I think they honestly were waiting for that to come.)

**From here on, anything RE I have what they call a ‘Prompt Pay’ option. This means if I pay in full by 20 days after getting the bill we get a 30% discount as long as insurance doesn’t cover the procedures. I have no insurance coverage for IF, nor does he, so YAY for discounts! I will list our paid amount and the amount it would have been. I will correct anything that I input incorrectly. My RE also elected us for a similar option at the specialty pharmacy for medications involved.
RE Consult——-$345.8 (Not covered. Prompt Pay Option, would have been $494.00)

I just added a link on my costs page to your costs page . I think that it is really grate that we can compare and know when and where to negotiate.
Sperm…is mega pricey. We spend about $1500 EACH CYCLE. that my dear is only sperm, shipping costs and a “cycle” monitoring fee they charge us for god knows what reason seeing as the “bank” is 1500km away and we only deal with them via email/phone.
